This Spider Tries so hard, but even when he's not holding back, all he can do is cheer on his fellow Spiders from the sidelines as they fight the evils of the battlerealm.
Spider-Man (Classic), a buff long awaited has come at last. Fitted with a new look and web shooters, this old Spider still has trouble learning new tricks. His taunts never seem to stick and his webbing doesn't seem to do very well either. Peter Parker is tired. He tries so hard but still pales in comparison to his allies.
Is it time for this Spider to hang his costume up forever?
Spider-Man's Damage is certainly a step up prior to his buff. He definitely seems to be able to do it. However, his damage very difficult to sustain. With a kit aimed towards new summoners, Spidey's style is pretty simple. Do 2 Special 1's and combo into stunned opponents to build up taunts to do a "massive' Special 2. These Taunts however, even when spidey is Sig 200, have trouble sticking. WHAT?! Spider-Man having trouble poking fun of his opponents? Never thought we'd see that day come but here we are.
These Taunts although easy to obtain, are hard to sustain. One slip of the Party Mastery can lead to Spidey's ENTIRE Ramp-up being completely washed down the drain. Leaving us with a Special 2 that doesn't hit too far away from his prior state. Begging the question of why keep his buff simple for beginners if his buff in the hands of beginners equates to almost exactly the same damage output prior to the buff. Yes he has some utility now, but it pales in comparison to say Spider-Gwen, a Champion buffed years ago and that had also debuted in 2015.
Back to his damage. When it does work out, his damage is miles better, however, the work to get there? It's just not worth it. To note, his taunts just seem to trickle away against "mondern day units" with units with their drawn out special attacks. Making it even harder to see any decent damage. How can Spidey come back from this set back?
Introducing Taunt Refresh or Pausing! With a SINGLE line of text, Spidey can see some light.
"Taunts are refreshed when the Opponent Launches their Special Attack", or "Taunts are paused for X seconds when the opponent launches their Special Attack" or even "taunts are paused for X seconds when Y does Z". The possibilities are endless, yet the result so simple.
Damage ramp up stays up, damage stays up. Stress stays down. Good for beginners. Good for everyone. Kabam, it's not too late to help Peter Parker to get back up.
