Item Use (Alliance)

With the revamp to the Alliance Events, is item use factored in somewhere? If not, should it be included in the Summoner Advancement event?

I am hoping it gets added. Jax said yesterday that the revamp resulted in rewarding players for “simply playing the game”, yet this update removed this significant portion of simply playing the game. It’s a big miss.
