Why disable this option?

So I spend a lot of time during wars checking on other bgs to try and be helpful with potential counter suggestions and whatnot. So I routinely use the option to look at the defenders to see what their rank and sig level is. I would also use this function to scout my path before joining. But now I am only allowed to look at the defender info on my attack map and only once I have joined attack. Why has this been disabled?

It's not intentional and was actually supposed to be fixed during this past update but it hasn't been.
