Issue with 8.2.4 punish heavy path

I’m trying to do the path with Doom and it takes about 7-8 slaps to disable the weapon.
I’ve reread the nodes a few times and I can’t see anything that would prevent it from happening the first time around. Is it bugged?

Hit the opponent just after the sp. For some opponents it is tough to time. But most matches work fine on this path. I have completed this path recently. There were couple of opponents i striggled him, needs a bit of timing and luck.

You have to bait their heavy and punish it. It's not about your heavy

That is indeed the case. That sentence is very poorly worded.
