Alliance recruitment overrun with bots

Until recently, you could leave an alliance open and a summoner in your tier would join. Search results for summoners looking for an alliance used to be tailored to their account.
Now, low level accounts acting with bot like behavior flood the alliance. You can’t kick them fast enough until another joins.
I logged a ticket with support. Was given instructions on how to close the alliance. That doesn’t resolve the issue at all.
Recruitment for casual alliances is totally wrecked right now.
