I deleted my main account a couple months ago, is it possible to get it back, or is it gone forever?

When you delete an account it literally warns you a couple times that it is permanent and cannot be recovered.

Sadly you can`t. There would be no point in deleting an account if you were able to get it back later.
Did you jump on the I quit after the removal of revive farming too quickly?
Don`t feel shame. I too had the idea. But luckily I was smart enough not to do it.

It's just that it's still showing on my friends list from my alt account, so was wondering what happened to it.

Still have a chance then, usually when it's deleted, the name goes away and it's a blank, but if it still had a name, contact support/send a ticket

Unfortunately it's gone OP, even if your account is showing up in your friend's list. You can try contact supporting but they will not likely be able to help, even if remnants of your account are on a server somewhere. User privacy is taken seriously and if a player decides they want their data deleted, apps will have to comply and reversing a ban would go against that. Sorry, but all also, congratulations!
