Is mantis a good defender?

I've noticed a lot of people complaining about the mantis boss in the side quest, I ran through it for initial completion, I don't explore until the last day or so. I have mantis as an awakened 7* and was wondering if she had good defensive potential or if the nodes that were tripping people up.

It's really the nodes as with most defenders are. On the right or wrong node , results could lean either way.

I would say she’s really only a good defender if a player can’t avoid her throwing her SP1. They definitely made the Mantis in SQ fairly annoying, but she was pretty docile if you were able to push her to an SP2 and avoid the SP1 altogether. Power Focus 1 and/or the one where they are more likely to throw an SP1 over anything else (the name currently escapes me) could potentially be moderately annoying with her. But after this SQ it’s probably safe to say that she’s now downgraded as a defender because of the fun that everyone got to have.

She's also jus in that phase where she is new and not immediately championed by the community, so people are slow to learn how to play/fight her. She can definitely get some kills just from people not being familiar.
