Question about Abs-Man joining the basepool

So if my math is correct today Absorbing Man should join the basepool. I got two questions for this:
1) At what time will he join the basepool?
2) When he joins the basepool, can I open a 6* Mystic Crystal/Nexus I saved from BEFORE he entered the basepool and pull him out of the crystal?

1) 1pm EST like every update in the game.
2) Yes. Just confirm that he is in the pool by restarting your game, going to the 6* basic crystal and see if he pops up in the preview.
