That’s a big part of the issue. Variants used to be “end game” content when Cav was the furthest progression. So the struggle is balancing gearing it toward end game players and having rewards that meet the mark too.

New content or special events will always keep coming. You can bet on it.
Variants stopped being endgame content. Miike confirmed in some old thread.
