Does anyone know how AR & Masteries affects DOT in general?

LacerosLaceros Posts: 106 ★★
What I mean is what is the math in which, if a DOT debuff would do 5,000 damage over 15 seconds, which should equate to 166/tick, what would be the new DOT/tick on a class bonus? Is it just an extra 40% due to class bonus? Idk

then you have other masteries to take into account like glass cannon, suicides, strength, etc.

Is their anyone who has any insight into this?

The DoT damage is based on modified attack rate, unless stated that it only relies on base attack rate.
So let’s say a bleed deals 5000 damage over 15 sec, and your base attack rate is 2500.
That means the bleed deals 2x the attack rate of that champion over 15 sec.

Now, any boosts, masteries, buffs etc is going to add up, and calculate the increase in attack rate - hence modified attack rate.

If you use 30% hero boost and 20% attack boost for example, and have class advantage, thats 30+20+40 = 90% increase of attack rate.
So champion with 2500 base attack rate will have its attack rate increased by 2250 (2500 x 0.9), giving modified attack rate of 4750.

Since bleed deals 2x the attack rate, it will mow deal 9500 damage over 15 sec, or 317 per tick.

Sorry it’s a long explanation. Does that make sense?
