Idoom synergy with Peni

For the Hades Rifts I have limited options when Mephisto is the boss. I use Peni Parker most of the time but I recently got a 5* Idoom. His synergy with Peni stats when the opponent is immune to incinerates it will turn into shocks and vice versa for Idoom. The problem is when I use the sp2 with Peni it still pops up as incinerate debuffs and Mephisto is immune to it and takes no damage. Am I missing something or misinterpreted it? I doubt it because the debuffs wouldn’t show up.

Mephisto isn't immune to Incinerate, it just doesn't deal damage to him.
