So what characters are Kabam actually allowed to use? I assume everything from the comics/movies are available. But then what about the amalgam DC/marvel characters like Dr Doomsday or Super Soldier.
What about other game original characters like from Future Fight and Strike force?

I would guess that every character that's an official Marvel character and not some kind of crossover/cross-licensing character, and then some leeway that occasionally allows Kabam to create their own characters.

I doubt that we'll see any non-Marvel characters in the game even if they've appeared in Marvel comics at some point in time. The interesting exception being Angela, who was originally a character in the Spawn world at Image Comics. Due to some legal shenanigans, she ended up being sold to Marvel and they turned her into Thor's long-lost sister.

depends what marvel allow.
marvel need to approve every champ design for the game
sometimes kabam has the idea and presents it to marvel,
sometimes marvel has the idea and presents it to kabam.
marvel are very controlling of who does what with their IP.
games created by other compines likely have a dual copywrite with marvel and the creator and would likely require special licensing to the original creator.
but they may just be still fully licensed by marvel.

what originals are in future fight and strikeforce?
only game originals i know of are kabams ones.
