Why are people complaining about more ranks in BGS?

Because people in here will complain about anything… I think the main topic brought up is the fact that it will make points harder to get.
I personally like the change but there will always be two sides to everything.

On paper, it's more Rewards. It's also harder to get into the GC for people who find the last Tiers more challenging, and potential for more Tanking and other things.
I'm on the fence. I'll have to see it play out. Last Season I was in the GC after 2 weeks. The hardest time I had was D2 and D1. Extending that isn't getting my hopes up.

Can't discount the fact that this will also increase the use of victory shields to progress. Let's not kid ourselves. More rewards are great, but having a hard time with the increase in the tiers that you don't get double medals for a win.

The main issue is not the increase in ranks but rather the increase in vibranium. Almost no one cares about more bronze ranks. In Vibranium, the double medal increase for a win is not there, some luck is required to get good matchups for the GC climb.

i think the fact that vibranium doesn’t give elder marks on promotion is kinda the main problem as it’s just more games needed to reach gc but not as many elder marks rebate

Because it’s not more rewards if you are stuck in the additional diamond and vibranium levels as you are going to need a lot more win streaks to progress to GC.

We went through this with medals 2:1 win/loss just a few months ago. Well received. It went to 1:1 for the final push and that was fine. Now it’s basically gone with additional ranks. You are going to have a lot more people stuck again

New tiers are likely also going to be 4 or 5 wins to advance so you end up yo-yoing a lot more. 3 wins are significantly more doable than 4 and 5.

It’s like saying quest rewards are free essentially for those that are going to complete event quest. Or any quest for that matter. Imo free rewards are login calendar and the 4hr/daily crystal and the likes.

Fair enough although prior to this change there were virtually no way to earn bg tokens in GC besides daily objectives. Therefore I personally think adding more ranks is a net positive for token acquisition.

And this is why a lot will be moaning, its something I'm not best pleased about, at least on paper, this seems like its still going to be drag to climb the VT even more so with the increase to medals required in bronze and silver.

The thing that annoys me though is that the increase in VT is happening the season before everyone will be seeded. So season 10 has now been increased by 3 tiers yet everybody will still be starting at bronze 3. Personally, doing an extra 3 tiers doesn't appeal to me so I doubt I'll even play the mode, the VT as it is (or was?) Was a big enough time investment that I just about made GC each season
