What is the point of the normal and easy AW maps per 1 war group? Can you use same defense? What is the purpose?

    The one tagged as "current" is the one that your next war will use. However, if you win/lose and move up/down in war rating, you could also potentially graduate (or relegate) to a different AQ map. Since defenders are persistently placed, you need to have a way to have your defenders ready for that new map should that happen.

    You can either leave it blank and place defenders there once you move up/down, or you can place defenders now and not have more work to do once that happens.
