Rewards without finishing the quest?

So I'm on 8.2.1 and noticed that my rewards were collected without finishing the path/quest? I tried on another path and it did the same. So, I went to 8.1 to see if it did the same thing but it did not. I went back to 8.2.1 and tried on the 6* shard path and it did not collect the item. Is this an issue with the center path? I mean I don't see it being a huge issue considering you can only collect them once. I just thought it was kind of odd that it gave me the items without finishing the quest.
