For the gym I would suggest uing spiderman, he's young and has lots of energy to burn. He can jump higher then anyone there so tha'ts good for basketball or volleyball games. Not sure the sport you are playing in the gym but my money is on Spiderman being the best for the gym.
To go up against grammar master, you need well educated champions preferably professors and doctors.
