Extra Gauntlet Entries, can’t play lower levels?

I just finished the last of the gauntlet challenges, but I still have entries to play. I started on tier 4 and didn’t touch 1-3, but it won’t let me go back past tier 7 to play them. Is that a glitch or am I missing something?

As you complete higher difficulties, it locks earlier ones so that you only have 3 available. If you got all the way to Gladiator himself, then you can only do Tiers 7 and 8 with the gauntlet keys and earn repeated rewards.

The rewards are better in each higher tier so there's no reason to want to do the lower ones.

Unless you CAN'T reliably do the lower ones, I guess. But if that's the case why would they have progressed too far in the first place?

Some players that are used to the lower levels burned a lot of items to get to and defeat Gladiator for the objective rewards. And have been stuck ever since, as they can’t handle tier 7/8 item less.

There's a lot of people that absolutely CAN do Tier 8, but not consistently and reliably without revives/potions.

If you have to use even a single revive to finish Tier 8, the rewards aren't worth it, because you have to do it over and over and over again. If you have a single slip up on the fights leading to UC, that could be the difference between completing it or backing out and wasting a Crest.

For me at least, tier 8 and completing the tech challenge for tier 9 was by far the most difficult. Doom with full MD melts Gladiator.

But to my original point, that’s dumb. There were cape shards available for completing the first 3 tiers, so I have 18,500 instead of 2k because they didn’t clarify that you can’t go back past 3 tiers and we’d have extra entries that would be unusable. I swear the deeper in we get to this game the less sense the things Kabam does makes sense. This entire month of EQ has been mass confusion.

Doesn’t feel like a coincidence that Kabam is running events like this geared more toward lower rank players, they’re still too green to understand what they’re getting into until they’re too invested in their accounts to bail. And for Mike or Jax or anyone else that wants to respond, which I welcome and will gladly have a respectful conversation, please explain why the earlier tiers are locked and why that wasn’t explained initially. The forums have been chaos trying to understand this for the entire month.

And before somebody dies on this hill, I fully understand that I’m basically griping over 1500 shards but it’s the principle of the matter and how this entire month has been handled. That’s frustrating, this is not the first time we’ve had to deal with something like this and the responses that I’ve seen on other forum posts essentially amount to you guys can kick rocks

Do you get more shards at the lower levels? Huh, didn't even realise that, yeah, fair point!

But yeah, I can understand using up items at the higher levels and not wanting to continue that.
