As far as the other closed thread, I'll just say this: heroes are aspirational. Whoever you are, wherever your path in life, you want to see yourself in a hero. Comic heroes are especially aspirational to their writers/ artists/creators. We don't have many of the versions of champs in this game if not for diverse creators saying I want someone that looks or sounds like me. However, Warpath and Shaman were born of Claremont and Byrne not because they had a perfunctory Inclusivity checklist but because they wanted to tell stories with characters who didn't look like them. As in life, not every character is everyone's cup of tea, and that's fine. However, I enjoy variety, and I enjoy the variety of champs this game has to offer.
Last related note, i first met Keith Giffen at a con in 1988, after the first Ambush Bug miniseries came out. Wrong company i know, but i was absolutely struck by the fact that, after seeing and chatting with him, realized he WAS Ambush Bug. Look at any picture of Mr Giffen and you'll say He looks like a character in a Keith Giffen book. JLI was the best. Heroes come in all shapes and sizes, and that's cool. R.I.P.
