Victory Track - Battlegrounds

This is a suggestion. The victory track for Battlegrounds mode could be more enjoyable if when defeated instead of losing one progress token you simply do not earn one. In that way, you remove so much of the stress associated with losing. This game should be for fun and punishing the player for losing is not fun. Now that Kabam is pushing more people to play Battlegrounds, I believe it should be a better experience. Thank you for your attention.

    Makes a lot of sense actually. OP is suggesting more carrot and less stick approach from Kabam. Why get punished and lose a token you have already won in a DIFFERENT match?

    If you play a match/fight and lose, why is it necessary to additionally lose the progress you already earned from a previous match? How are these two different fights related? And so why should losing a fight reset your progress?

    Players gain fewer points for losing a match...that is a good price to pay already for losing.

    Yeah sure lets make GC the same way, win gain points, lose points stay intact. Matter of fact lets make it so you get all rewards after playing 1 match because its about fun...

    As someone who makes it to the GC every season, I wouldn't really care if they did this.

    People always cry "but BGs ArE a ComPetAtiVe ModE!1!1" which I don't disagree, but to me the competitive aspect of BGs is the Gladiators Circuit. Victory Track being more about participation doesn't seem like an issue, and it would remove a lot of the "pain" of BGs because you wouldn't lose progress, but could potentially make none of very little if your win rate isn't high.

    I don't really see a problem with low accounts making it to the Circuit because once they're there, they likely won't make it out of Uru 3 anyway. It would at least allow them to work towards higher tiers and they would still have to win a lot of matches so there's a chance they won't make it anyway if they have a low win rate.

    No one is saying that, lol. I don't know why people go from "let's make BGs less painful" straight to "omg just give them all the rewards". Surely things aren't that black and white.

    It's still going to be a fair amount of work for lower players to hit GC, it's not like its just handing them rewards. They still have to win the same amount of games, just not consecutively.

    It would also make facing a modder less annoying, because while you would lose your Marks at least you're not getting set back.

    I mean, as long as matchmaking is random and they're fine with getting stomped in GC by me, it wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing 🤣

    if you want this to happen the n BG rewards have to be based on history progression... kabam should remove seeding and actually create 2 brackets :

    - Paragon bracket : paragon + TB players competing
    - Cav bracket : UC / Cav players competing

    With different rewards.

    Good idea, it would help increase the number of players in GC since more will progress through.
    It would be nice if it would apply to all of victory track except vibrainum for example since that's the last one before going to GC plus kabam won't have to worry about players farming for points since even if they lose they can't just lose their medals and then earn them again and it can also help detect players who farm points more easily since you can see them losing on purpose since if they win they will just progress and losing won't help with their grind for points

    Yeah its really reasonable that losing has no consequences at all in a PvP mode.
    Use the excuse of "fun" to hide the real reason which is rewards.
    They took away most of thr 2 coin per win 1 coin substraction when you lose, what makes you think that losing and not having a coin taken away would be rational🤣

    adding to what i said the more people there in GC the more there is an option to add more ranks and rewards for GC since the player base will be WAY larger then it is and even those who are at the bottom of GC can still make it worth their while

    So you make this change and the make VT be longer than it already is by adding extra tiers and levels of progression. That way we get more rewards on our way through it. I see what your game is.

    If you think about it, the most likely set of people who predominantly play for rewards, focus on the meta, grind, treat the game as a job etc. are the ones close to the top. Majority of the player base probably does not optimise for rewards and a lot of them leave if it is no fun, irrespective of the rewards on offer. There are more people on the game than you would prefer to believe who don't play arena, fully explore EQ, do SQ or any of the time bound modes. It's definitely not all about the rewards.

    BG has changed game experience because no other game mode in MCOC pushes back your progress the way BG does. Neither is there an avenue to push through roadblocks, the average player in the game is used to this. This is also more acutely felt by casual players, so it is natural that they are the ones complaining right now.

    Caveat is the group that is now complaining that seeding does not allow them to start lower in VT and beat up easier opponents. That is definitely about rewards.
