Killmonger's indestructible charges bug?

Recently had bg match where i had to face Killmonger with my Hercules, and during the fight i noticed strange thing: indestructible charges were reducing dmg taken from hits to zero, but they were not interacting with "red numbers", aka dmg that comes from Herc's feats of strength.
Which is weird, considering that red numbers shouldn't appear in first place without hit itself doing dmg. At least according to ability description.

As far as i understand, aside from the fact that Killmonger's indestructible effects are limited to being charges, they are no different and should act like any other indestructible effect. Is there anything i'm missing?

Thing is all sorts of abilties where this occurs, they do the red number calculation before the indestructible damage prevention. So "damage it would have dealt" is what happens.

This is not meant to work this way. And we have precedent from the whole Morningstar nerf saga. She stopped healing from delaying damage to champion boss when he was indestructible.

But what happened was they had to specifically change it for each instance meaning those under the radar were not affected and worked incorrectly.

Another instance of this is pessimist/optimist which has life steal . Even if you're indestructible they will heal like as if they dealt damage

Red numbers usually bypass damage caps (KM indestructible caps damage from hits to 0).
I suspect Magik limbo should bypass KM indestructible too.
Galan, Morningstar and others with direct damage (red) might not be affected also.
@DNA3000 will probably know the reason and can explain this interaction better than me 🙂

While red numbers do bypass kiolmongers's indestructible, that's not the issue here. Herc's red numbers is based on his hit damage. If hit dmaage is zero then so should red numbers. If you try him in flux dispersal, his red nbers do zero dmaage at full flux charges
