Parry issue

I understand that AI needs to develop its playstyle as the game progress. But is it possible for AI to parry while blocking? I mean the AI is standing in defence blocking for like an hour and when i try to hit its block, i get parried while he's blocking. Is this possible or is it a parry issue?
