Possible bugs or user misunderstanding - Gulk, Gwenpool

I was using the practice feature to test out certain abilities or at least as I interpret them if they were working as intended.
Hulk (Ragnarok) vs Terrax
Face Me passive regenerates 70% instant passive damage over time.
Terrax rock field inflicts energy damage every 0.50s
I think I may have answered my own question as I'm typing this but Gulk should only work for something like Kate Bishop's or Storm PX passive coldsnap but not Terrax energy damage or Omega Red death spores? Seems confusing as it did work against Magik's limbo which is energy damage.
Champion descriptions:
Terrax: While Rock field is active, nearby opponents take up to x energy damage for every second.
Omega Red: Death spores on nearby opponents passively degenerate them.
Magik: Limbo deals x energy damage per second.
Storm PX: passive coldsnap dealing x energy damage.
Does Gulk's abilities only work if passive is specifically mentioned in the opposing champions abilities and as long as it's not followed by something like inflicted as direct damage?
Secondly, I was testing Gwenpool against my Herc and had 60 hits in the combo meter against Herc when he triggered his immortality, shouldn't her AAR shut that off? I then tested Falcon (w/lock-on) and Crossbones against Herc and he did not trigger the immortality. To the best of my knowledge GP AAR is suppose to be 2% per hit in the combo meter meaning at 50 hits in the combo meter it should be 100% AAR but I realize it doesn't explicitly state that in her description which is quite odd, seems like a simple fix/update.
Description:
Gwenpool: Plot armor (awakened ability), passive, she also reduces her opponent's defensive ability accuracy based on her current combo count.

As for the gwenpool thing, what sig level is she? And perhaps she had infuriate and it messed with her sig ability?
These are really interesting points, excited to see the devs response
GHulks Face Me is for passive Damage Over Time effect like Magiks limbo.
The damage from the Rock field isn't a DoT Effect. It's direct energy damage.
I'm curious how to tell the difference?
Terrax description for Rock field:
While the Rock Field is active, nearby Opponents take up to x Energy Damage for every second the Rock Field has been active, every 0.50 second(s). This scales with Base Attack only.
Magik limbo description:
Deals x Energy Damage per second. Any damage Magik takes during this period is wound when the effect expires.
Based on what I can see they are both energy damage attacks with no mention of direct damage.
