Champions locked for story mode

Hi, I want to try to push to cavalier but I’m noticing that my champions which are inside the alliance quests are ‘locked’ from story quest? I went to read closely before joining this time and it said I should be able to use them for other story or event quest, anybody experiencing this problem as well?

Btw I noticed that these champions are locked out of event quest, side quest, daily quest and back issues as well.

    AQ champs are locked, AW champs are not. It looks like the message you received is intended for war.
