R2 duped Hercules went down in PI/prestige after R3

Soooo. Just took sig 80 R2 6* Herc to R3. Tell why/how his PI went DOWN 170 points AFTER I R3 him?!?! Should have gone up maybe around 1,500-2,000? Went from 14,160 to 13,890??? Huh? Had to get him to R3 lvl 12 just to have the same PI as he was at R2?!?! Need Kabam to explain this plz. Not worried about PI, but done correctly as is should be??? Would’ve also increased Prestige!!! Some moderator plz answer/help me understand this downgrade from an obvious upgrade plz!!

    Based on challenger rating, what happens is your rating at max r2 is higher than level 1 r3, but it will be significantly higher at max r3. You’ll still get the full benefit of the rankup, it’s just to incentivize the level up as well

    Thank u for being both helpful and informative!! I still think it’s stupid that R3 lvl 1 is lower. Kabam is gonna be Kabam I guess. Do t usually pay too much attention til after I max whatever Rank, whether it be R2,R3 or whatever. Does seem like his PI/prestige is right after leveling up. Lvl 11 R3 being lower than R2 max level????? Still stupid, and blows my mind. Kabam is Kabam and all their crazy Kabam math I guess. Thx agian
