Can Black Cat defeat a Thing in BG without using any special attacks? (Yes, she can!)

With a new season of Battlegrounds starting, we have a new set of nodes to play with. The two most important are Power Shield, which reduces the damage of all of your basic attacks to 0 but increases your special attack damage, and Polka Dot Power, which reduces the power you gain from basic attacks to 0 but instead gives you power while the opponent is under the effect of a damaging debuff.
I was curious...what happens if I bring my Black Cat to a Thing fight? I can't inflict any Bleeds on him so I won't gain any power, which means I won't be able to use any special attacks. Can I still defeat him with basic attacks despite Power Shield reducing that damage to zero?
Hm.
Let's try it! For science! The community must know! Or at least I must know.
One thing that I feel is rarely talked about when it comes to Black Cat is that there are actually two ways to place a Sabotage debuff on the opponent. The traditional way is of course to launch an SP2 when you have the Calling Card on yourself. However, if the Heist expires naturally while the Card is on the opponent, you also place a Sabotage debuff on them. This is the secret to defeating this Thing.
It's not the quickest fight since you have to wait out the 45-second Heist, but once it ends, Thing melts away really quickly.

And there you have it. Black Cat completely circumvents the entire BG meta. I haven't been able to test if this works vs every champion (that is, if she can shut down Power Shield as a node with every strike), but it worked really well in this case at least.

I felt the pain when thing hold of his sp2 while sabatoge is up.
I don't regret ranking up her, wish I could do something like this, only if she wasn't banned in every damn match.
