Deathless Guillotine isn’t just a trophy champion.

Now I’ve been messing around with my deathless Guillotine, I remember reading her kit and thinking “hey they’re bringing back old Guillotine cool I guess” I didn’t think she was anything special and a lot of opinions at the time were that she would be a trophy champ with limited uses.
I put her in my battlegrounds deck a while ago, she has degen damage which nobody is immune to, so I thought she’d be good for the meta. Boy was I right.
Now this was the only fight I’ve done with her until now (a combination of not getting her in the draft. unideal matchups and not playing loads of BGs) but I was amazed by it. The last hit was an 84k crit on the L2, so a lot of overkill (it was a R4 hulkling im pretty sure).
I then decided to test her out in realm of legends to see what happens, these were the results against winter soldier and Captian marvel (no class advantage vs class advantage)
From a 7* R1 the winter soldier fight is nothing special, but the Captain Marvel fight in under a minute was kinda crazy. I did get lucky with crits and had 4+ degens on at any given point, dealing 700 damage a tick each, she was melted.
I then remembered I had a 5* Ghost Rider Relic, so I put him on, levelled up his abilities giving a vicious passive and degen potency, and went back in
I messed up against Winter soldier, got unlucky with crits and degens, it was just generally a bad fight. But the captain marvel fight was only 1 second slower despite in the fight getting far fewer crits and slightly worse degen luck, so I think the relic does have a benefit.
I think her kit and abilities are really fun and you know what, I like the simplicity. There’s nothing to tell you how you have to play her, you can degen them on any hit, no need to parry, no restrictions on how much you can dex, you can be as aggressive or passive as you need.
Also the heal reversal shouldn’t be overlooked, big utility which ensures damage whenever the opponent has willpower or regen. Now I couldn’t use her in war but I got this against this months PlatPool boss from the paragon gauntlet
Not half bad huh.
Mystic dispersion helps her out a lot, a couple buffs and some aggressive play means you can have 100% uptime on the heal reversal.
Now I won’t deny she has some weaknesses. She has no immunities and heavily relies on her debuffs. Her basic hits aren’t the strongest and there are very few ways for her to buff them significantly. She has no way to counter miss or evade either. She isn’t the next herc, she was never going to be. But she isn’t just a trophy champ, she has a lot of uses and can be a significant pick in a battlegrounds game right now (and by the looks of things she will be quite good for safeguard as well)
