Raids feedback

So just my personal experience so far with raids.
AQ has changed a lot since its first incarnation, and mainly for the better.
A lot of those changes involved removing linked nodes, meaning that you were actually able to play the mode as and when you had time to.
It strikes me that by introducing the roles, that you have added a layer of bureaucracy that was unnecessary.
Because of these roles, I haven't been able to move or fight in going on 15 hours, which has made me completely uninterested in the mode. If I decide to give the game my time, I want to be able to play the game, not to log in, see that it's not my turn to fight and then log out again. That's not fun for anyone.
Honestly, I can't believe that this wasn't noticed in testing.
I don't see the need for roles, why not just have the beastly bosses, even keep the 10% cap if you want, but create the fights in such a way that people can actually play the mode when they have time to dedicate, not because someone has has completed an action and you have to try and sneak away at work, or something like that.
It seems like a backwards step to me.
