Tips for Week 2 All-Science path for Absorbing Man

Hey y'all, I'm trying to do one of the week 2 paths with an all-science team for the special objective rewards and I am BAD. Just baaaaaad. I understand the concept, but gosh it doesn't seem to execute well. Try not to block because they gain energy (I don't know how to evade every hit of HT specials, thats for sure, so it's a nightmare of them just building up power or me getting hit in the face), when they're in Armor mode keep hitting their block to build up energy, then use specials for mega damage.
I'm doing that... but my specials don't seem to be all that powerful so I have to do multiple ramp ups and if the Defender does a single light intercept during their aggresive fury state, I'm instantly dead from one or two hits. It doesn't help that I naturally have a Class Disadvantage the first three fights, and none of my Science champs seem to be up to the task.
I fear using resources at this point (rather than just starting over) to get to Absorbing Man but then just being obliterated by him. On Threat Level 4 I had to blast my way with Hercules and America Chavez to do enough damage to circumvent the reviving he was doing. I'd have to get him down to under 10%, hoping that I didn't KO him in the process, and then let him kill my attacker so I can go in and do the last 10% with my own Absorbing Man on Attack, and that would still sometimes take 20 hits to knock him out so I could get the rewards.
So... any tips/tricks? What should I be doing? This was way harder than I was anticipating and it took me over an hour just to finally start to get past the first two defenders.

Maybe I’ll start over and try the other path, tho I already had to use two revives on it because I was frustrated. Oh well, gotta get those 7* shards.
So I thought, maybe I should prevent their specials and did the path with Doom… Only problem: the unblockables make it hard to find openings without them throwing their specials… Really tested my skill with a lot of intercepts involved…
But yeah, for me, doom was the best option.
Safe to say, it was the taskmaster path that I had to do with the all science team. Wasn’t that bad, to be honest… Hulk did most of the heavy lifting, thanks to the SP1 perma stun. (Except for taskmaster, where I went for SP3 -> SP2)
Dr. Zola
The defender has two phases that cycle. One when they get a huge fury and fight aggressive, the other when they get a huge armor and become incredibly passive.
Make sure you're using your specials when the defender is in the fury phase, otherwise the big boost you get to special damage is negated by the defender's armor up.
I’ll start over and try again.
I did the top path with an all science team. Jessica Jones was a nice fit for the nodes. She applies a bunch of weaknesses during opponent specials so they never got the debuff immunity up. Unstoppable against Quicksilver was also nice to help block some specials even if he went unblockable but that fight was a blur.
Scorpion was also good on the path and used him for Black Widow. Hulk took some strategy to time your stun lock but he worked for most of the Misty fight but she evaded between stuns mid-combo and threw a special. Morbius cleaned up on her and did Yondu well. My 5* Torch nova flames were plenty for Absorbing Man.
It definitely took a few practice runs to get a feel for the nodes though. The debuff shrug/immunity combined with the unblockable and the minimal damage without an incinerate up was a lot to manage.
Taskmaster was my issue, so luckily I could just keep re-starting. Finally lost patience and just stuck with a run where Silk got him down 70%, and finished him off with SpiderHam. Then I used a revive - which was also annoying - but brought silk back and she cleared most of the rest of the path. Caught a bad unstoppable when Absorbing man was at 20% with my Flamed On HT so had to finish him with other champs which was annoying given his healing.
The other path wasn’t bad - I just R2’d my 7* Sunspot yesterday and he cleared the bulk of the path. Elsa took down quicksilver pretty easily.
What level is your guys' Silk? I've got an R3 currently and she doesn't seem to be putting in much work with her attack/special damage on this path.
Sadly, I have no Human Torch, still, Scorpion R5 Ascended is my only high ranked science - will he be able to do this Absorbing Man or am I screwed.
Not sure on your scorpion- maybe if you have despair maxed to reverse his healing?
I used hulk to one shot taskmaster (mid diff)
Scorpion for black widow (mid diff)
Hulk for Crossbones (low diff)
Silk for Human Torch (neg diff)
Silk particularly is really destructive when you time her specials right ✅️
