Mastery Costs & the Champs Who Void Them

With the introduction of Dust, we have another champ who turns off Masteries, masteries which cost the player base who use them hard earned or purchased units.
I run Willpower, and against certain champs, I’ve had to adapt and overcome those champs, like Warlock, who will consistently degen when his infection charges hit 20. It is what it is, I counter with champs Willpower doesn’t benefit. Countering champs is and always has been part of the game, and like 99% of the champs we face, everything can be sorted out with planning.
Then we have champs like Dust, Photon, and whoever Kabam has planned in the future who are able to simply ‘turn off’ masteries that we players have spent anywhere between 200 and 2000+ units unlocking through mastery cores, and unit cost per ranking up these masteries. Photon shuts off the most basic Mastery we’ve all sunk units into; Dexterity. It’s one thing for Champions to have buffs and abilities that can counter Dexterity, but entirely another to have something in a Champs kit that turns off something that has been purchased. It would be on par with releasing a new Skill champ that was, in their kit and by design, completely immune to Debuffs; Crossbones and Valkyrie, among other Skill champs, can purify debuffs through their kits, but imagine a Champ released that placed on defence in War or Battlegrounds was completely debuff immune. Masteries like Recoil, Liquid Courage, Double Edge, these would all be rendered useless with nothing but benefit for the player. This is obviously NEVER going to happen, but it’s in the exact same vein; buffs, debuffs, immunities, all can be used in kits, or placed as nodes to work around, because they can be countered. To have champs that negate PURCHASED masteries is game breaking in a way that ONLY benefits the bottom line of profit margins. There’s no point to it other than forcing the purchase of revives, potions, and having to reset and repurchase Mastery setup ranks.
If the plan is to keep releasing champions who shut down Mastery setups, is there a plan to erase costs for Mastery setups? Introduce Mastery loadouts that take the resources we’ve already spent on in order to change Mastery setups dependant on Summoner’s choice and needs when facing Champs who negate Masteries that have been purchased?
Is there anyone else who is getting frustrated at this recent development in Champions kits, or is it just my opinion?
