cant place characters in raids

it does not make any sense whatsoever that i cant place hulkling or abs man in raids because they are in defense on aw. i can use them in any other quest except aw attack, but just not in raids... it expects me to take out a major defender in aw just to use them in raid... that doesnt seem thought out, they do not correlate whatsoever
not only do you need SPECIFIC characters for raids, but they also cannot be currently placed in defense in aw
and just to clarify, it doesnt matter if they are in any other quest, ONLY AW DEFENSE (and maybe attack but i have not checked)
