Weird Stryfe bug against WoW Dani?

For the mutant X-Magica objective, I thought I’d use Stryfe, and found that after applying the SP1 shock, he takes the 25% damage penalty from the “Just Deserts” node buff whenever I refresh it with mediums or heavies. I have no idea why - it says it only happens when a buff or passive is removed or prevented from applying, but I’m not doing that as far as I know. Doesn’t happen when the shock isn’t there.

It’s annoying and also kinda funny considering he’s supposed to take no passive direct damage on mediums and heavies. Any ideas? Either it’s a bug or I’m missing some weird interaction here
