Why are Defenders parrying in BG’s?

It literally makes no sense for defenders to be able to parry in BG’s matches. Why has Kabam seemingly changed the AI to act like an Attacker? They parry, dash-back intercept, parry continued by a special attack… it’s ridiculous. Why did Kabam think this was how the AI should work from now on? Do they really think players would find this fun? No matter how well the attacker is playing, the defender can decide to dash-back intercept at any moment and delete your entire health pool 👌🏽 You need more luck then skill in BG’s now… it feels like we are the defenders. Kabam are doing everything but fixing the AI. No wonder people are getting tired of Battlegrounds.

Any time I’m facing another players roster (war, arena, bg) I assume their mastery load is in play. I haven’t noticed a difference in bg, I assumed parry was always active there.

The other players masteries are always in play, so I don't know why this is such a surprise to OP.

Yes others masteries are in play the issue is it’s happening way way more completely changes how you have to play and the fact AI is on steroids now. it makes playing not fun after 6 years I find myself play a fraction of the time. Alliance has fallen apart so many have quit. Sucks but it is what it is

First 2 replies are missing the point. Ok masteries is the reason cool…doesn’t mean defenders should be doing what they do. AI has been broken for way too long and Kabam have obviously been hearing about it. Fixing They just can’t make money from fixing the AI so they don’t do it. Some of y’all just reply with anything lmao

So the AI shouldn't parry you? You know that parry is in play, in PVP modes, and that was your response, kabam shouldn't allow it?
Sounds like a skill issue.

I replied because I am a high level player and haven’t noticed a new issue in BG where I’m getting parried more often now. I never dash in on a live opponent. This is what forum conversations are for.

Double Medium AI parry is now part of the game. I believe it would be decent of the team to comment on that and provide relief for a disadvantageous situation created by the game code.

I mean... you make a post "with anything". You're fighting other summoners' rosters. Those include the masteries they've applied to their champions. They can dex, they can parry, they can throw specials, they can take advantage of the assassins mastery, double edge, etc.. Maybe just try getting better at the game.

This isn't an instant of the A.I not working how it should, this is you complaining about how bad you are at the game and needing any excuse that will make your fragile ego feel better.

Everything else I said was to @Rayven5220 calling a well known issue that most of the community have noticed, ‘skill issue’. Getting "parried" in BG's isn't a "well known issue". In fact, it's not an issue at all. That is what you're post is about. It's in your title.

@Demonzfyre lmao why did you skip to that conclusion without any context for it? 💀 Just because other players use masteries when they are PLAYING the game and CONTROLLING their champs… doesn’t mean their defenders should be doing the same… they’re two very different situations. The obstacles a player faces during a fight used to be only in the defenders kit & the nodes the defender is used in, which was great and understandable. Now defenders behave & have access to perks that the attackers have (and that only make sense for the attacker to have), as well as the nodes and the obstacles built into their base kit. I’m a F2P Valiant since first week of Necro too but just because i’m good at the game, it doesn’t mean that I don’t also see the flaws in it that make the game extremely less fun to play. The higher level a player is, the more of a chance a player like you exists that think there’s no flaws in a game because you’re good at it. Childish logic. Grow up mate 🤦🏽‍♂️🤘🏽

@Folkvangr yeah there’s not much you can do about it. You dint want to wait for the defender to dash at you instead of you dashing at them because you don’t want to take block damage… you don’t want them just standing there being idle because it wastes precious time that can cost you the match… you don’t wanna dash because 50% chance that they’ll intercept or dash-back intercept… It’s just one of the annoying things I guess.

It’s generally about the timing and the speed of the defender’s attacks. Champs with double hit mediums are more likely

You're Valiant and you aren't aware of how this simple rule of the game exist? You've never played in a single war, not one round of arena and this is your first time playing in BGs?

I highly doubt you're good at the game. I have a feeling you bought your account and are just finding how the game works.

They can make remove the defenders ability to parry just for that game mode… defenders didn’t used to parry and they worked fair and reasonably. Shouldn’t rely on luck more, or as much as skill in any game mode. You probably won’t understand this either but give it a try.

In inclined, as much as it pains me to say, to agree with demonzfyre that you likely bought an account and don't know how the game actually works.

You're playing a PVP mode. Arena, BGs and AW are all PVP modes. You're playing against live player rosters. All masteries applied to attackers are applied to defenders for that persons account. Your defenders are the same way.

It's been this way since masteries were introduced and arena came about. It's literally been this way since the game started.

I understand that since you bought your account and probably haven't done much but some questing that you don't realize that defenders in quests are different that in PvP modes.

You can search all kinds of YouTube videos and see proof of this throughout the history of the game. You claiming that parry shouldn't exist for defenders is different than saying it wasn't ever this way.

I'll get a warning for this but it's quite obvious you've either bought your account, paid a merc to do content for you or have cheated your way to Valiant.

Parry and the other mastery items are part of the challenge for PvP modes. I know it sucks because your skill level is used to the MODs that make defenders just stand there. I do commend you for wanting to play legit though. It will take you awhile to get to the game without MODs.
