Mutant: if you want an attacker, Sunspot. If you want a dual threat, Bishop.
Skill: I've heard some good things about Chee but I haven't actually seen much from her and I don't have her myself so I can't really say anything about her. Meanwhile, I love Black Cat. She goes brrr on a lot of champions.
I'd say that the 7* version of Black Cat is pretty useless on defense, yes, but I've actually gotten quite a few KO's with my 6* Black Cat when I've placed her on BG defense. At max sig, she's a nightmare to intercept. That can trip people up in general fights, but in fights where you explicitly have to intercept her for one reason or another, she's a menace.
But that tactic doesn't work with a 7* since you ideally want her at max (or at least high) sig for that.
Edit: but Chee is still the better defensive option, obviously.

Yeah depends entirely on the meta, CGR was a nightmare to fight last GC meta but 9 times out of 10 he's completely and utterly useless on defense. I know what you mean though, and I definitely agree, personally I just think I'd go Chee'ilth first and then Black Cat.
Bishop and Chee'ilth, close one with Black Cat but personally I prefer Chee'ilth cause Black Cat is useless on defense.
Nah, her specials get some people off guard, I've got few kills with my black cat. But I haven't used her a single lane in 8.4, and rarely draft her in bgs, cheelith would probably be a better rank up
