Spring of Sorrow - Onslaught

I was in the middle of the fight against Onslaught (50% left) when the event refreshed and we got new objectives.
I can still fight Onslaught but I can't see the previous objective anymore (Carina's Challenge).
So I was wondering if I would get the objective completed if I end up killing him. Just don't want to spend resources in vain.
Could someone from Kabam enlight me?

    The objectives are live for the 14 days they’re active for. You can finish the fight but you won’t get the objective anymore

    You get a 24 hour extension on quest fights when you’re in them. There is no similar extension on objectives.
