Probably a dumb question, but where are F2P people getting loads of R5/7R2 mats?

I know they exist in the BG store (like 2300 a piece for T6b/T3a, and anywhere from 2400 to 3000 for various T6cc fragments), but considering you need 6/7 of the former, and 3/4 of the latter, cost becomes a factor very quickly.

But there are people in my alliance (and elsewhere) who seem like they're just rolling in these resources, and are able to rank 7* as soon as they get them. Meanwhile, aside from a few 6R4 rank ups recently (Serpent and NTW), I feel like I never have them available.

Is there somewhere else that has them available that I'm just missing? Or is it just that people are spending their tokens solely on the rank up mats?

    You can get 4 each of them every week from traders outpost.

    BG store, traders outpost, daily super event, daily crystal in the webstore, «rank up» store, and prob AQ/AW store (I’ve not been in an ally for 2-3 years).

    They are not that frequent u need to hold or save the right amount of catalyst based on class
    Like if u rankedup a skill to R2 it will take over some time till u get 4 t6cc.

    Most of my 7r2 and 6r5 came from rank up gems, act 8 100%, necro, Carina challenges, and just grinding the monthly content, I only have a small handful of champs I used catalysts on, at least for the t6cc which is easy for valiant but dreadful for paragon

    Once you get Valiant, they become easier to get those resources. The BG store is where I get most of my T6b/T3A. You can buy upto 10 each time. Trader post is another great place. This game is very FTP friendly as long as you do the monthly quest, side quest, side events like SOS and WOW. Lots of options to get most resources for free.

    My alt account is f2p. I got 3 R3, 7 R2 and 17 6* R5. All of these come from completing contents, side quests, special events and just buying them little by little from bg and glory store.
