When I look at my forum profile, I have a certain number of "points." What are they?

Look across the bottom of the forum posts, people can select those in response to what you post.

Points simply refers to how credible and liked your posts are (as far as intention goes, that is).

Everytime someone finds your post insightful, agreeable, likeable or awesome and click on one of the 4 reactions at the bottom of your post, you get a point.

However, if someone flags your post for spam or abuse, you get a point deducted. This is not restricted by the zero mark, so you can go below zero and into the negative mark.

The lol reaction gives no points too.

That being said, at the end of the day, points really only give a rough guideline to how liked a person is or the chances that their next post would be credible and agreed by many. They don't accurately display how good a person is, since there are people out there who constantly flag posts that don't break the ToS.

I think it's just insightful and agree. They add up, and awesome/likeable doesn't seem to add to anyone's credibility.
