Crucible or Act 8 for Valiant

I have 6000 units and a hundred or so revives. I have 39 paths left for act 8 exploration including 5 Cerastes, 5 Bahamet, and 2 Glykhan. Will legendary crucible both paths be easier than finishing act 8?

For a reference to my skill, I did 1 path Necro with a r4 ascended sig 200 6 star Aegon. 100 revives and 4000 units.

Do the 4000 units purchase the revives, or was that in addition to the revives?

If you think you can do crucible, then do it. Probably be quicker to complete then exploring act 8

That’s in addition to the revives.

Then I'd say crucible, but do path 1 firsy to get a gist of it. If you don't mind spending units. There isn't a fight that can really roadblock you, it will just be difficult if you don't bring an optimum counter. Crucible will also be quicker.

Since necro cost you that much, I just think that you may get stuck on one of the bosses in Act 8 where you just power through them with units and revives.

Crucible, you can get a 2-3 gem from it, plus it’s shorter

    Indeed.

1 have 8.1.6 left to explore. Most of 8.2 left to explore, 8.3 is 100%, and 2 paths of 8.4.6 left to explore.

Just not sure I have a deep enough roster.

If I remember correctly, cerastes took about a 1000 units the first time a year ago. I had 0 R5 champs or 7 stars. Now I have 14 R5 and 6R2 and 1R3 7 stars. So I’d hope it’s cheaper.

Bahamet cost me about 1500 units. Only R5 were Kingpin and Herc.

    Glykhan was around 1500 revives.

Is there any fights in the Crucible that need a specific counter or you can’t win?

Honestly, not that I can remember. My worst was I brought my 6r3 (maybe r4 knull) instead of my 7r2 knull to an Ultron fight where he was armor break immune. That cost me 8 revives, but even then it wouldn't have been a road block. I forgot that knull's main damage comes from armor breaks.

I would suggest doing the crucible. I’m doing my second path right now, and it’s been a lot of fun. For reference, I’ve completed act 8 and haven’t done necro yet. I started with the yondu path and used 7-10 revives (I wasn’t really counting). I’m doing the red goblin path now and am about 1/4 of the way done. It’s taken more revives (6 or 7 already) but still isn’t terrible. It’s very doable and fun content.

Go to Simula67’s video on the Crucible. He worked on a spreadsheet with MetalSonicDude and that spreadsheet is great because it gives options for each fight. If you think you have the champions/counters for the fights, go ahead with Crucible first

No harm in trying to plan a crucible run on paper. Costs zero items. See if your roster can do the fights. There are lots of different livestreams & spreadsheets out there using lots of champions. If it seems doable, it's definitely shorter than Act 8

So I’ve 100% Act 8 but done no Necro. I don’t care for long term content but I also didn’t want to take up Aegon and hated OG Grandmaster back in the day. I’ve got 4 k units and a handful of revives. Id say I have just average skill. I was concerned Crucible might take me more than the saved units. But you have me intrigued. Maybe I’ll give it shot. I’m so close to Valiant ( 2.5 tier 4 alpha) but I’m so ready to be Valiant.

    Well, I’ll plan it on paper. I’m watching a couple vids. I feel like I have good depth. I have 1 R3, 6 R2, 14R5 ascended, 14 R4, 37 R3, and 11 R5 ascended 5 stars. And plenty of 30% boosts. And 30 more R1 7 stars.

Honestly, I should have explored act 8 by now, but I’m just slow at playing, medium skill at best, and when I push a lot of content, I get burned out.

I would say do the Normal difficulty to get limited time rewards.
Both Crucible and act 8 are permanent content.

But as you said about your earlier skill and revive relationship, I would highly suggest you to do act 8 exploration then Crucible. Act 8 have better rewards and your skill will be polished more. You would have better understanding of champs and nodes. There you can restart as much as you can if you are stuck or have 2-3 champs for boss.

Crucible is can be night mare if you go unprepared as you have only 1 champ per boss and if you are stuck you might spend more than intended. All are act 7 boss.

So imo do normal difficulty to save resources and get Idea of quest and then do act 8 100%. After that you should do legendary difficulty of crucible

I would have suggested you legendary difficulty but own statement regarding your unit use in bosses and Necro seems more than usual. Good luck mate. Whatever you choose, just prepare yourself and smash it, you got this.
