Not working?

I'm using Galan on the Symbiote Supreme boss in 7.3.4 but for some reason I keep taking those bursts of direct damage that SS deals when a buff is nullified. Galan is immune to nullify so I don't understand why I keep taking this damage?

    Stagger is another way to bypass nullify immune like neutralize so galan vs sym isnt a good option

    Oh okay, I thought that since in stagger's description it literally says it Nullifies a buff that it counted as that
