Abs man vs Hercules

What am I missing in this Battle Grounds meta? Abs man should reduce hercules indestructuble by 90% yet I still had to fight for the full duration and it lost me the fight.

so what is it the 10% increased by 150% or 150% reduced to 13.5%? still it should be basically nothing

Basically all percentage calculations like these are additive, not multiplicative. In this case, the math would be 100% (base duration) - 90% (Abs man’s ability) + 150% (extend node) = 160% of base duration. So Herc is coming out of it with a longer duration immortality than a normal fight even with Abs man’s duration

If you’re curious, the only general cases of multiplicative percentages I’m aware of are weakness effects (presumably so you can’t reduce a champions attack by 100%) and the 30% regen reduction from poisons.

It’s sorta stuff you just learn from experience and some time poking around with others in the community like in the forums here. The game can definitely be a bit esoteric at times so I don’t blame you, although technically speaking the game does kinda imply these things are additive by usually stating things like “X has -50% duration” as opposed to “X has its duration halved” or “X’s duration is 50% of what it would be”. I’d definitely be down for some sort of comprehensive guide to game mechanics for newer players, but tbh the game’s kinda big enough that it’d be an undertaking to say the least.
