#Saga: Secutor/Provocateur

Seeing the new Saga tags in game—any info on what to expect here? Appears Skill and Cosmic are out, Science, Mystic and Mutant are in with a sprinkling of Tech.

Any thoughts on how the next saga plays out, confirmation of incoming champs, etc. welcome here.

Wouldn't be shocked if it's mojo related

Sadly, he’s not tagged which seems weird.

We know which champs are a part of it because of the mess up the other week. Someone probably has the screenshot and can post it here

It's probably Enchantress related since she is the newest villain to come out just like Arcade was with the last saga

It does feel weird that Mojo isn’t part of the saga since we actually know that he’s going to show up in the event quest narrative. The event quest with Arcade revealed that Mojo is attempting to take over Manhattan in the battlerealm and we were told in one of the livestreams that this would be followed up on in November(?) where we’re pretty much all but confirmed to be getting Dazzler and Spiral in a quest relating to Mojoverse. Maybe they’ll pull a Knull; he wasn’t a magic thief champ, but he was heavily featured in the narrative and was eligible for the saga-specific materials.

Also for the people here who don’t seem to realize it, we already have official info on what the new tactics do, see the AW changelog announcement posted recently. The new tactics look like they’re live and will start today with the first offseason war.

The regen seems nasty if u dont play with the tactic healing 10% basically on a boss node be dreadful
  • SquidopusSquidopus Member Posts: 587 ★★★
Keep in mind that regen is a percentage of BASE health, not max or missing, so it shouldn’t scale with the health boosts from nodes. That’ll make it much more manageable.
  • BigBlueOxBigBlueOx Member Posts: 2,395 ★★★★★

What I find baffling is why is Shocker even on this attacker list? There are other questionable choices like Mysterio and Civil Warrior but without the Starky Synergy Shocker will be unable to access the tactic. That seems like a bizarre choice.

Well depends tier its quite bad as 50% of there base health so 50k if ur fighting a sas i believe or even a r3 7 manthing

Same with ihulk though he doesnt use debuffs yet is listed i think theres bait options like there always doing like putting deadpool and wolverine as an attacker/defender

I mean IHulk in AW isn’t happening anywhere people care, so that’s a completely bizarre choice.

Also with defense u really gonna place red mags or claire or even old man logan

Ihulk has a bunch of suppression debuffs on his sp2 and while Civil Warrior and Mysterio are light on debuffs they already have easily accessible heal block in their base kit so they’ll work fine with the tactic. Shocker is the only real oddity here.

But u need debuffs at start so u can stop the heal so yeah why is ihulk on list when hes suppression is via sp2 which u can start missing

Been noticing this trend of not inlcuding attackers that obviously suit a tactic by excluding them from tags.. last time it was (for example) no Fury, Kingpin and Jabari Panther being #clarity.

This time - no Mojo, no Photon, no Scorpion ...

I think most times its balancing to try keep it even like clarity/house of mirriors the tactic was very weak as almost every cosmic listed was able to smash through fights

Maybe but it gets ridiculous especially for paths which require immunities and with 1 or no champion having them as being tactic eg path 9.

Yep im on p9 and i know a weapon x is gonna be a pain since who would u use when theres no immune champs like u cant void as immune to petrify

But yes to cw and mysterio but tbh why would u run cw as hes not great of a champ like at least mysterio u can run peni and just 3 gas then spam poison

Lack of good immunities has been a problem before but this set of saga champs actually seems pretty good for it between the plethora of multiple immunity champs like several robots, Sandman, and Cassie. If you can dedicate two slots for saga champs it looks like you’ll always have options, even if the opponent gets ban happy.

Also Weapon X? He’ll be super easy. Tactic champs inflict a free passive heal block that shuts his regen down, at which point all you have to deal with is the unblockable.

Not on p9 as theres no tech immune for it that heal blocks

You don’t need a champion with heal block, the tactic provides heal block on its own. You could just use someone like Ultron or Sandman and it would still work.

Again miss also ultron would die since hes not immune to shocks or incinerate especially with all this healing also u cant sp1 with sandman for the heal block as weapon x is petrify immune due to his regen can be reduced

Tactic counters miss so that’s not an issue. You don’t need a champion immune to both hazard shift debuffs to handle path 9, one is sufficient if you back off while the debuff you’re not immune to is active. Sandman can just spam sp2 for decelerate since it triggers the tactic heal block all the same, while Ultron just triggers the heal block constantly via his function: damage degens. Duped Ultron reduces shock and incinerate duration by up to 80% so he actually pretty effectively counters all four hazard shift debuffs.

You need the immunities to avoid the defensive reduction and damaging debuffs on the path nodes.

Best option in S1 is 6r5 antivenom for full immunities and tactic, but I've no idea how he works himself vs wpx outside of that as I'd never normally try. His decelerate might work I guess. s2 would be sandman - one ban though and your goose is cooked.
