I'm also disappointed. I thought he was getting a slight tone down. Oh well, guess we will have to wait for more counters to come

Shathra will one million person be one. I’m not mad at them releasing hard counters for defenders months after they’ve come out, that’s how it’s always worked, but serpent needed a tune down as it was. I’ve never seen such a frustrating defender before. Bullseye could already be nuked by a bunch before sinister and negasonic and even he got a slight tune down. What’s the deal with them just saying “ah serpent is fine, Wiccan and sym are good for him guys!” as if that solves anything

The balance program is just there to nerf op offensive champions now they should just remove the program since it does nothing helpful

Came here to say exactly this. Just saw in my alliance chat that no changes to serpent, means shathra is going to be the 1st real counter. I know there are already a few, but she's probably going to solve some of his super obnoxious mechanics

The irony is that serpent has had more of an impact on the meta than any offensive champ has. He does so much more damage to the game than herc does, and yet the devs all hate herc for being op.

I think they should restore the old buff program instead (the original one before the rebalancing one)

It was the easiest option for a tune down. Everybody was vocal about it. Just a tiny change, something, but noooo. Not to be disrespectful but, are they even doing anything?

It's a load of Rintrah. They just want to create these awful defenders and not do any more work.

Yah I’m one of them lol, I just haven’t found trouble fighting him. But I guess it’s because I’m aw focused not bg. In aw he’s easy to takedown. In bg I’ve took him down several times but I’ve also lost time so idk, he just doesn’t seem to and to me. But the again I had a hard time fighting korg up until a month ago lol, while everyone else seemed to find him easy.

I mean that would do it, that’s kinda the main point of contention with him. In war he’s tough but you can afford to take your time with a slow but safe counter. In bgs? Finish him in 2 minutes or you lose. Finish him in under 2 minutes, even with near max health, and you probably still lose bc it definitely took well over a minute and your opponent had no such restriction unless they were also facing a Serpent. In war eating a loss or two may be fine unless you’re like a tippy top alliance where every death matters. In bg? Mess up once (it’ll happen a lot of times) and your round and probably match is forfeit. I can maybe see the argument he’s fine in a war context but he’s absolutely not in bgs.

Then block him from BG decks until you rank your own high enough so you don't face him. You get three to choose to block before the fight begins. There are numerous I block on sight, regardless of how high ranked they are. Because they will be a problem.

It's going to piss off the people who rank him high that he's instantly blocked, and that's kind of the point. He's so broken many don't want to face him in any roster. Much like Thing, Hulkling and Cosmic Ghost Rider, you pick the poisons you're okay facing.

But that’s beside the point. You can counter literally any champ with the ban option. If Kabam released a champ that instantly killed you on fight start, you could still play bgs by banning them. That doesn’t make it cool. People don’t want to deal with champions that simply HAVE to be banned because even if you play optimally you’re all but guaranteed to lose unless you can make it a mirror or your opponent plays like an idiot.

I fought serpent in bg it’s not a quick fight that is true but it’s a doable fight. I can see why some want him nerfed and why some don’t.

I was just saying one of them I have an easy time with and the other I don’t .

Is it doable? Yes. Will it result in a win for you? 9 times out of 10 no. Why? Cause even the best counters take a solid 70 secs to take him down in his current state. That's absolutely busted in the current meta where even the second hardest defender (Bullseye) can be taken down in 45-50.

I guess I’m it sure about this meta yet as I only fought him once and I used l black cat just to see what will happen. I feel like it’s been 50/50 but I’ll pay Māori attention this season if I get to fight serpent and see what happens.

So yah out of my 25 bg fights I can see I only fought serpent twice and it’s 1/1 so 50%
