6.4.6 — Team Selection

I’ve been spending time on Story content this past week and am now on 6.4.6.

From the advice on here, I watched a YouTube video explaining the Grandmaster fight; know the Opportunistic route is easiest; and will include Wiccan for the reverse controls. But there’s many Champions that have been considered ideal, so I need some help narrowing them down. I don’t think I have the resources at present for consecutive rank ups, but if my 6* Aegon, Captain America (Infinity War), and/or Colossus are vital, I can wait until after they’ve been upgraded. There’s also a few 5* R1 champions, e.g. Juggernaut (no Morningstar though).

Doom is a great option for your first go at the grandmaster. He's tanky, deals damage over time effects, and can hit like a truck.

Hit monkey also works wonders on the fight. He's squishy but once gm is wounded those guaranteed crits shred through his health. He also works well for the crit prompt and DOT prompt

Thanks! Doom (and Red Magneto) has been a pretty permanent fixture for 6.3 and 6.4.

I haven’t come across him as a suggestion yet, but this is helpful because I won’t have to wait for resources. Thank you!

(I ranked him up to R2 on a bit of a whim and then upgraded him to the max to help with 6.3.6 CAIW.)

Use hulk + maestro synergy. Trust me, this will be a life saver during the third phase of GM as it’s based on reverse controls and that synergy gives hulk immunity to reverse controls

Based on how comfortable you are with handling reverse control, it could potentially save you a lot of revives as the third phase is where most people face the revive sink.

I checked and I’m assuming you meant The Overseer because I don’t have Maestro in any rarity? I’ll likely stick with Wiccan as it’ll be one slot compared to two. But I have little experience with reverse controls so I appreciate your input. It’s helpful to learn of (5!) additional counters and in a different class. Thank you!

Stick with Wiccan, he will be fine. The reverse controls isn't the absolute worst. The necropolis grandmaster reverse controls is awful because it switches every hit, but 6.4 isn't too bad because it just alternates on a timer. You can get there fairly easily with Doom, then let Wiccan to the rest of the reverse controls prove problematic.

Yeah meant overseer. And yeah Wiccan works, didn’t see him in the pictures at first .

But yeah wiccan works, the only reason i suggest hulk a bit more over wiccan is that his basics can do better damage then wiccan could do during wounded phase.

That's a 7 star wiccan tho, I wouldn't be too worried about the damage and that way he wouldn't have to rank up hulk

I used kitty with Emma synergy personally, awakened obviously. But Wiccan is probably a better option overall.

I just wanted to thank @Furrymoosen @CookinEwoks and @Lokx again for taking the time to give me advice! I was terrible against the Grandmaster but got there in the end. Those unopened free crystals came in handy.

And yeah Wiccan works, didn’t see him in the pictures at first .
