In the 80s ford tried to kill the mustang by changing everything people had come to love about the car. It's huge cult following that dropped millions of dollars on the model. By making it look futuristic and trying to make it more 'streamline' and people just stopped buying the car so they had to make the call to change it back to what people enjoyed. What worked. Or they could have continued and just killed the model altogether and potentially killed the company. Just a fun anecdote. Flashy, annoying, and overly complicated never beats out functional and ease of access.

Well Nokia also decided to stay the same and refused to switch to futuristic technology, and look they are dead too

And here Ford is today with a Mustang SUV. Finally accepting some things needed to change to keep up with the changing times.
