SOS Toad - Psylocke and Miles Morales

I was wondering whether anyone had tried the above champs for the Size S+ Control denial objective? Going to be honest, I'm really not a big fan of Gilly 99, it strikes me that permanently power locking Toad with Psylocke and naturally intercepting through the 4 hit/backdraft cycle would completely invalidate this fight.

Similarly, Miles goes invisible on enemy special attacks, meaning again you wouldn't have to mess with the alternating root/reverse controls.

Thanks :)

A couple things to note. First, Psylocke's damage isn't great, so it would be a long fight. But it is potentially doable. I think you'd probably die to the poisons eventually, or just have a hard time pushing past the regen. Too much time to make too many mistakes.

For Miles, there's only a guarantee that he won't get hit by unblockable special attacks and other unblockable hits while invisible, so you will need to make sure that Toad is at at least 3 prowess before he throws a special, otherwise you can still get hit.

Of those two options, Miles is probably the better one, but G99 is still better.

Try Viv, she works like Miles, but you have to parry to phase the special

Actually miles can cheese the fight, but you have to manage the prowesses between 3 and 9 all the times. It coud be doable though

Y'know I've been using exclusively poison immune champs subconsciously so I'd completely forgotten about that aspect! Thanks for reminding me 😂👍

I've got her fully maxed out at 5* but unfortunately she's one of the handful of 6's I don't have, wishing I did though!

You can't permanently power lock toad with g99. If you don't intercept and keep his prowess effects under check, he will stun you

I did it with Miles, got the solo. You do not need to keep Toad below ten prowess because Miles isn’t poison immune. The passive stun only applies to poison immune champs.

The things you *do* need to be aware of are 1) poison damage, it’ll chip you down in a big way, and 2) sometimes the miss mechanic is bugged and you just get hit anyway. So it’s best to treat the fight as though you still need to do the root/reverse control mechanics and if you mess up, hope the invis is working properly.

As for Psylocke, she is theoretically perfect for this fight but there are some issues. Like Miles, the poison chip damage will add up in a big way. Also, Psylocke plays best when you keep her opponent locked down in their own corner and can reliably intercept them. Toad is not the champ you wanna try that with, since he’ll be regenerating like crazy. So it’s gonna be a long fight. For both champs, you’ll need to make a point of paying attention to poisons on yourself and clearing them as quickly as possible.

OP, you named two of my favorite champs in the game. I had the same thoughts you did.

Theoretically you could with Psylocke though, repeatedly intercepting is a core part of playing her.

This is the incisive feedback I was after, much appreciated my dude.

Psylocke is a sleeper for sure and back in the day was one of the first 5*s I pulled. Her animations have always been so smooth, always wanted her to do well and if I see a chance for her to shine, it might just give me a reason to rank my 6* haha.

Miles can miss specials only if he is not blocking, and only against unblockable specials he have 100% chance to miss. The chip damage is managable it you play slowly and dash back often.
