Not that long time ago, you actually went into BG match and drafting on Defense champs like:

Doom, Mangog, Terrax, Knull, Korg, WeaponX,
IMIW, Penny, Sersi and list goes on.

Nowadays it's just same defenders over and over... Photon, Onslaught, Serpent, Bullseye and Maestro.

Imagine going through an awesome game for example God of War ( those that know) or even Elder Rings and instead of approaching new Bosses you go over and over the same one .

Just don't understand how we normalized such stuff 😔

    If you can't win against Photon, it's on you (block her first 2 hits of sp1 and parry the last, THAT'S ALL, she's dud after you figure this out)

    Onslaught? Havok, Cap Marvel, Ham, shocker, Silk, must learn sp1 dex tho.

    Serpent? Just ban 😶

    Bullseye? NegaSo, Kitty, arch angel, warlock, storm, Bishop, cgr, any bleed immune with damage

    Maestro? Vox, Chavez, wolf, Titania 😉 Kate, plus many more, Maestro is most easy fight among these

    I understand the lack of variety I guess, however I still draft quite a few of the champs listed first, IMIW, Doom, Weapon X, sometimes Knull (RNG if he does the sp1 tho lol)

    Those champions have just been around for much longer, so there’s clear cut counters, other than Maestro and Photon these champions haven’t even been out for a year, more counters will for sure come out, apparently quite a few people think Jack’s gonna be an Onslaught counter, so we’ll have to see on that, we’ll probably have the same discussion where Serpent Bullseye and Onslaught are not used as much due to the new defenders in 2025.

    You really use titania against maestro?
    You need to time her heavy before he gets glancing buff, her heavy has stagger, it's very nieche counter but works very effectively and reduces Maestro to punching bag.

    Disagrees show that still not a lot of people know about this. 🤣

    I don't think he mentioned that they are very hard to go against. I think this was meant to be a "Down the memory lane" thread. Or am I wrong??

    Why do you think they started using tactics in AW? Why do you think they change the nodes each BG season, and used to change them every week of the season? Because there are aspects of the game that are going to be stale if there isn't some sort of variation. It's not new.

    You see, they may change nodes, but it's still the same defenders, it's just the difficulty of the node and the difficulty of the defender on top of it. The old defenders didn't have specific counters, it was mostly skill, nowadays defenders, you don't have the right counter + the counter to specific node, you're screwed
