Burning Elder Marks via 1*/2* roster in BG?

I'm at max Elder Marks and have 5 reward tiers waiting to be claimed that would send 2k marks into the void.
Can I run a super low tier squad deck in glad circuit just to burn the marks and contribute those points to the realm event? Rather than the alternative of forfitting marches or just wasting the marks by claiming while at 9k max
Is there any reason Kabam would be upset by this?
