Why was Shathra shafted?

No, not ability wise. A buff would be welcomed but that's not the topic.
In the Eq last month, Count Nefaria got the focus for 99% of it, and for one quest Shathra just came out of the shadows like an insect that just hanged on the corner of the house for some time, and got beaten up instantly. No importance. And even in her design, her idle animation, win animation, sp3, they're cool... but she's portrayed like a mindless meaningless insect, no aura at all whatsoever, no presence, she's just there, you know what I mean?
While I agree her character isn't really the best written one (I've just finished reading End of the spider verse) but she's far more than a clueless insect.

So it's weird how even in the eq she (a villain of the whole Spider verse) was put to the sidelines like that.

They seem to do this every month, kinda like Scream this year, Jack seems to be getting all of it.

Arcade had a whole freaking saga for 3 months 😭

I read edge of the spideverse, had a bit of her origin in it. It was dead. She was asked to make basically a multiverse thingy to contain everyone. She did a bleep job of it, made a wasps nest, looked ugly. Her sister made a beautiful web. Everyone love the web and used that instead. They weren't even rude to shathra or anything like that's the dumbest reason to be a villain. There is undoubtedly stuff further on I have missed but imo that was a silly start

The story makes complete sense. She’s a summoner’s choice vote. The story was probably laid out and workshopped well before Kabam knew who would win and be inserted into the story. And let’s be honest, while Shathra is an elder goddess, most of the other choices were basically jobbers. She happened to win and they just had to sorta fit her into the narrative that was probably built around the assumption that said champ would be a little less powerful.

As for animations and all that, it’s fine. She’s an insect, I approve of them trying to play that up. It’s unique. She’s portrayed a bit mindless as you say, but she’s also just sorta driven by rage from what I understand so it kinda fits. And as for “no aura” (I cannot keep up with this newfangled slang sometimes), eh that’s subjective. She seems imposing to me. Fair enough to you if you disagree but it’s not an objective fact.

Nah she's stupid as heck and her character writing wise is weak, I second that, but still, she has a brain you know... the game makes her seem like she doesn't, she's a god.

    No aura I tell you!
Well yeah I can't argue with what you said about the eq story... still a shame, I mean, in the case of Quicksilver he had a much bigger part in that month's eq... I guess they just have written scenarios in case each champ win, like in story content when you choose one of 3 bosses...

I think it's because of the speed that each champion took to be integrated into the contest from their end. I remember on the live stream one of the creators was talking about how shathra along side other SC are designed differently because they have different time frames. Typical champs have longer time frames while SC champs needs to be designed/tested/coded etc more quickly. This means that it can throw off a pre planned narrative. Neferia was most likely designed with the story before shathra was chosen which is why he was placed more at the forefront of the story and as for her idle animation etc it could be because of the rushed time frame that they spent less time coming up with more concepts for those aspects about her. But that's all just a assumption.

Feels that way. Cuz, for an elder goddess that threatened the whole Spider verse... she's just there, you know? As I've said, no aura
