Gladiator Circuit Matchmaking

I was wondering how the gladiator circuit matchmaking works? I made my way through the victory track without too much difficulty, probably around a 60-65% ish win-rate, but now im getting my butt absolutely handed to me in the gladiator circuit. I recently got valiant and have 3 7 star rank 3’s and 5 rank 5 prestige’d six stars, with the rest of my deck being rank 1/2 7 stars and rank 4 6 stars. Of the 9 or so gladiator circuit matches I’ve played, 7 of them have been against accounts with well over 15 rank 3 7 stars and of those 9 games I’ve only won 2 (the well-balanced matches). I’ve been on a streak of 5 of these unbalanced matches in a row and am getting a little frustrated. How does the gladiator circuit matchmaking work?
