Oh yeah I guess I should add my own underrated champ.
Doc Ock’s okay I guess. Maybe he sucks idk.
How did he do that bullseye fight?
If you know how to play Doc Ock optimally, you can prevent the opponent from ever going above one bar of power. Without that, Bullseye can’t get his killer instinct or threaten sp1 chip damage. It takes some finesse and it’s not guaranteed, but it’s reliable enough and when it works you just turn off Bullseye and a lot of other champs that need specials to be a threat. It goes a bit like this:
• Trigger his “power lock” (it’s not technically a power lock but it serves the same function so I’ll refer to it as such). You can do so by going for an intercept combo, or you can parry heavy then hit the opponent (or their block). • Once you trigger power lock, land a parry into heavy before it expires. This removes the power lock but keeps your research build up, meaning your physics research is still at 100 and the next bit of power the opponent gains will retrigger the lock. • Retrigger the power lock by hitting the opponent or their block. Hitting their block gives them less power for when you really need to keep their power low. • Repeat bullets 2 and 3 until you reach sp2, at which point you should have all 3 research categories at 100. Throw sp2 while the power lock is active to trigger all 3 breakthroughs at increased duration. • Congratulations, the opponent is permanently heal blocked and power locked. Just play normally now and cycle sp1s (or sp2s if you have the power) to refresh the breakthroughs. Stay aggressive.
It’s a lot of words because it’s kinda hard to explain through text, but once you understand how it works it just becomes second nature. Once the opponent’s health is low, you can heavy to remove all the breakthroughs and deal a burst of direct damage to finish them off. Particularly in bgs where time is a concern this speeds up fights a lot, so get good at gauging when you can go for the kill. Things can get dicey if you misjudge and are left without your breakthroughs.
Absolutely love the simple playstyle of attack, put on DOT, attack again, add another DOT and then rinse and repeat to where you get the opponent's HP straight up depleting before your eyes.
Think they're my second strongest champ on my account and whilst they're not usable in every piece of content, the stuff they work on...THEY WORK ON.
Love Sunspot, would love to see this champion design also return in others like maybe Iron Hammer or Herald Thor in the potential future but for Shock than Incinerate of course.
Maestro is very underrated on attack. He needs the dupe for medium to long fights. But he’s got triple immunities, a pierce buff to shut down future Antman. His glance makes him ridiculously tanky as long as you don’t get hit by specials. And after one sp2, his sp1 burst is actually great, especially against tech defenders. Plus he’s a cosmic that doesn’t care if you nullify his buffs. A lot of nodes that shut down comics don’t hurt him.

Sunspot is in like every high level bg deck as an attacker
