Always push progression first it’s the safest way to ensure the best rewards from the big events.

With the roster you have, you should be able to make Paragon with very little unit use, so the real answer is that you can do both. Follow MCOC Noob's Act 7 guides and it should be a breeze, then you'll have plenty of units and getting better loot during the Banquet.

Farm revives from the apothecary, save the units until you just need them, then go for the paragon push like a couple days bf

Banquet will be progression based anyway so just get paragon
